September 21-27, 2019

September was the perfect time to visit North Carolina's coast. The weather could not have been better, and we often had a stretch of the beach all to ourselves. If you asked us if we would choose the mountains or the beach we would typically without a doubt say mountains. That is, we would pick hiking over baking in the hot sun, and we aren't big on going too far into the ocean. However, Chad's family picked the perfect time to go to the beach, and we have a new appreciation for the beach at that time of year. (When we are all together, it really doesn't matter where we are. We always have the best time, and there is always delicious food!) We spent the week watching our sweet nieces and nephews soak up all the beach time they could get. They built sandcastles, drew pictures in the sand, dug, boogie boarded, jumped the waves, fished, looked for shells and sharks teeth, and made memories together! And of course, we jumped in and did most of it too because that's just what you do at the beach! We even celebrated Sarah, Lauren, Emmaline, and my birthday while we were there. We are so thankful for these trips with family!
